THE STORY

For my plants

I am a plant lover. Last winter, I decided to go to visit my friends and family for a month. So I started searching online to see how to take care of my babies when I’m away. But all the methods online would only allow my plants not to die, but not guaranteeing them being healthy and beautiful when I’m back.

So I started seeking for friends to take care of my babies. I talked to a few, and one of them agreed to let me drop my plants.

After my trip, I went to pick up my plants, and I saw them being like this. They’re still alive, but they’re not trimed, not well cared. But that’s my friend who took care of them, so I could only smile and say thank you and gave them a gift I took for taking care of my plants although I was sad.

After research, I found that it’s not just my story plant lovers are a large group in the United States. And Millennials tend to spend more on trips to get a carefree experience.

I sent out a survey to learn more about how people care for their plant babies when they’re away. These are the popular options for people right now and the pain points:

Users don’t trust unprofessional people to take care of their plants.

Users feel frustrated and stressed if their plants look unhealthy when they come back.

Users struggle with dealing with the plants when they’re moving.

Based on the stain left by a potted plant which is a proof of a plant was taken care of and have left, Botani is born to give plant parents a carefree travel, and to enable plant lovers to have plants even in their temporary home.
