THE STORY

“Don’t Let the Buggers Grind You down!”

It all started with the article “Don’t Let the Buggers Grind You Down!” by Ken Garland in the book Looking Closer four: 4, Critical Writings on Graphic Design.

According to the author, those large multi-national Corporations put their signage everywhere across the world, invading others’ territory, and showing no respect to other cultures.

I found one sentence in this article that stands for the idea of the whole article, “Boycott the Abusers Until They Get the Right Message”, and decided to create a poster about it.

CONCEPT

Advertisement stickers

I take inspiration of the small advertisement stickers commonly found on Chinese walls, and put the multi-national companies’ names and slogans on them.

According to the advertisement of STD clinic on the left, I designed a sticker of Marvel on the right.

I wrote every sticker in Chinese to give a point of view of the culturally invaded people.

English translation is available on the right.
